Welcome to the Plain Invasion Website.
This
event was started about five years ago by a small group of friends, military vehicle enthusiasts and photographers.
Having spent the best part of fifteen years chasing modern Military vehicles about the SPTA, we thought why not try and re-introduce
some of the classics back to the ranges.
Our
aim for the weekend is for vehicle owners to camp and drive their pride and joy across the biggest British Military training
grounds in Europe. We also try and show you some of the locations that are ideal for some great photographic opportunities.
Although
some of the bigger training features and areas are out of bounds to civilians, we still get to drive on the public rights
of way and visit some of the less more active areas on Salisbury Plain.
All
vehicles are welcome, no matter how big or small.
Apart
from the great food; supplied and cooked by our very good friend and team member Dave Ives. We also offer a great community
spirit and a friendly feel to the weekend.
Full
Fire, medical and recovery will be offered for the weekend but it is always best you also bring the basic tools and recovery
gear for any inventuality. Part of the convoy will be the classic valley run, ten miniutes of water, humps, bumps and lumps.
This is not for the faint-hearted and no one is pushed into doing it. Alternative routes will be scouted before the convoy
departs.
All
this can only be done with the help and co-operation from West Down D.T.E. and Land Marc. It is down to us to protect and
act in a responsible manner while on the area: To-date, we have never received a single complaint from the MOD or the
general public - you can find the rules and regulations in the registration page on this website.
